We wanted to capture that cozy fall, artsy vibe in our recent photoshoot. As the leaves change colors and the air becomes crisp, there’s nothing quite like a steaming bowl of soup to warm you up from the inside out. Don’t you agree? So, we made beautiful images to mark the season with some of our favorite fall soup recipes.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at how we brought our vision to life.
Our goal was to create images that felt inviting and welcoming, and the neutral tones helped us achieve that. We wanted to create a cozy and artsy vibe that just screamed fall for this shoot so we chose a color palette full of neutrals and beautiful browns to do this. By incorporating lots of browns and neutrals into the photo shoot, we recreated a warm, cohesive, autumnal feel that perfectly captured the essence of fall.
When we think about a warm and sunny fall afternoon at a beautiful park, we envision lots of oranges and yellows, so we added pops of orange and yellow to bring in some brightness and cheer. . The yellows and oranges help to add a touch of whimsy to the shoot. We also used a lot of textured fabrics to give the photoshoot an interesting feel. By putting all of these things together, we made our fall soup photoshoot feel really unique and warm. We wanted our viewer to reach for their favorite cozy sweater and bundle up on their couch. We think we accomplished that goal with this cozy, poppy, artsy, falltastic shot.
Our goal was to create a photo that created a cozy atmosphere that would make people feel welcome and inspired. We wanted to use unique and modern props, but we didn’t want to take the focus off of the soup. So we kept our props simple. We picked plain white bowls, white plates, silverware without any markings, and a simple backdrop. We wanted the focus and attention all on the soups. We added in ingredients like crushed croutons, salt flakes, peppercorns, and herbs to add interest and texture. The props we chose were subtle and didn’t compete with each other. Overall, we chose props that supported the soups and highlighted their flavors. We love how the silverware adds a nice leading line to the soups. The lines on the fabric backdrop adds a fun and interesting look to the images as well.
Lighting is the backbone of any photoshoot. So for our fall soup photoshoot, we used a combination of hard and soft light. The hard light helped to create a fun and striking visual, adding depth and dimension to the shots, while the soft light on the soups helped make the shot feel comfortable, homey and welcoming. This soft light added a warm, glowy effect that made the soups look even more appetizing and added depth to the photo. Harsh light tends to make photos look flat, but you can avoid that with a soft fill light. Overall, the lighting played a crucial role in setting the tone for the photoshoot and helped to bring our vision to life.
Creating a cozy, artsy vibe for our fall soup photoshoot was like painting a masterpiece. Each brush stroke, or, in our case, garnish, was carefully placed to bring the final image to life. So we carefully styled the soups to look delicious and appetizing. Using a variety of garnishes to add pops of texture and color. Texture was the keyword for this shoot as we wanted to showcase the creamy, hearty soups in all their cozy glory. From crunchy croutons to colorful herbs, each garnish added its own unique touch to the final image. It was a fun and creative process, bringing these soups to life through food styling.
By meticulously choosing the colors, props, lighting, and food styling, we were able to craft a cozy, artsy fall vibe for our images. Just like a painter, capturing the perfect shot requires time, effort, and attention to detail. We approached our photoshoot with the same level of care and precision. We created a warm, inviting scene that made viewers feel like they were enjoying the soup-filled bowl with us. We hope you enjoyed the virtual soup-tasting experience we created for you. Hopefully these images inspire you to make your own warm bowl of soup!
