Ah, Madrid. In 2019, my husband and I had the delight of wandering through its vibrant streets. We laughed, danced, and, most importantly, ate our way through the enchanting cities of Malaga, Toledo, and El Escorial. But amidst the tantalizing tapas and breathtaking architecture, it was the simple, humble green olive that captivated me the most. I knew then and there that I had to capture the allure of these little green gems in an olive photoshoot.
Creating a captivating photo, in my belief, isn’t about over-complicating things, especially for these olives. I wanted to keep our setup intimate and uncluttered, ensuring the focus remained on the olives. The dramatic lighting was my little secret sauce – casting shadows, emphasizing textures, and adding depth to each shot.
In the world of photography, sometimes less truly is more. For this shoot, I kept the lighting simple. Positioned just off to the side, it provided that dramatic, almost theatrical touch that I was after. Props? We didn’t need many. Just a single plate that complemented, without overshadowing, our star: the green olive. I composed each shot with precision, bringing the camera in close to truly showcase the olives’ sublime beauty.
As we wrapped up our olive photoshoot, I took a moment to reminisce about our Spanish escapade. The joy of discovering a new place, the allure of its culinary treasures, and the simplicity of capturing a moment. For me, this photoshoot wasn’t just about olives; it was a tribute to our memories and adventures in Spain.
