October Blues and the Fiery Cure

October had been a particularly dull month for me, with the routine sinking in and creativity seemingly evaporating. I longed for a spark to reignite my passion. That’s when capturing fiery jalapeños came to mind, infusing my world with their vibrant hue of fiery red. I decided to capture these fiery jalepeños, and boy did I have fun!

Why Jalapeños?

Jalapeños have always held a special place in my heart and my camera’s viewfinder. Among the multitude of fruits I’ve had the joy to photograph, they stand out with their vivacity. Their intense green color, dramatic and bold, contrasts with many a backdrop, making them a true star in any frame. But the real magic happens when you slice one open. Inside lies a world rich in texture, with seeds scattered like stars in a clear night sky. I knew I had that capturing these fiery jalepeños would be a fun, layered and intricate shot.

The Art and Craft of the Capture

Capturing fiery jalepeños required more than just a keen eye—it was about letting the jalapeños tell their story. With the help of a single strobe light, we illuminated the spicy essence of these beauties. The light danced across their skins, highlighting the nuances of their form and the radiant glow of their interior.
