Do you want to move beyond stunning photography? To see your food stand out from the rest and attract new customers, you need scroll-stopping photos. It takes passion, patience, and talent to produce visually appealing photographs from elevated dishes to everyday eats. Our goal is to push beyond a pretty picture and capture the soul and spirit of the dish with imagery that heightens reality. We find ourselves in homes, farms, kitchens, and restaurants, where we continuously take on new challenges in commercial food photography. So let’s dive in, y’all!
Austin Food Guide photographs what they call heightened realism, which presents objects with excessive imagery and emotion. We want our images to ooze with everything we know about a dish, its ingredients, how it makes us feel. This approach allows us to capture both essential and ephemeral qualities of food.
Austin Food Guide takes foods, from the naturally photogenic to ordinary, and makes them fresh and vibing. Why settle for plain lighting when you can illuminate your subject? One thing is for sure: without light, we don’t have anything. But with just one strong beam or directional source of illumination, we can create beautiful images that will inspire others to eat healthier or enjoy an interesting new dish on their menu!
Austin Food Guide got its start after a defining trip to Philadelphia. This was my first introduction to lifestyle blogging, so I didn’t realize that most of what we were seeing was food photography as well. It’s not something you notice until it is in front of you and then it becomes hard to ignore! This has really impacted me creatively and from there on, I knew food photography would be part of what I do.
