As a creative entrepreneur for nearly seven years, I get to do what I love every day. My work’s evolution has been great, and I’ve learnt so much about myself and how to spend my time.
I’ve also had great teachers. They helped me find my voice and communicate effectively and meaningfully with clients.
It’s not because I do something new every day that my life is never dull. As a creative entrepreneur, I’m always growing.
My days are filled with art. It’s great. It’s also comfortable. Every time I finish a project or leave my comfort zone, I learn something about myself.
Variety keeps me fresh and engaged at work, so I can produce my best work.
When you feel like your life is too busy or stressful, or that you’re not getting enough sleep or exercise, remember: you and everyone else on the planet were made for this.
Working with great individuals and brands also plays a big role in my success. For me, it’s important to be a part of organizations that I respect, admire, and believe in. It’s contagious when you’re working on something you’re passionate about! When your clients can see your passion via your job, they become more confident in your abilities. It’s a relationship that lasts a long time!
You should always base your decisions on what makes YOU happy if you’re an entrepreneur at heart like me (and even if you’re not). Don’t do it if it doesn’t mean anything to you! Signs will tell you when it’s time to change or grow, and they usually come in the form of unpleasant feelings within yourself.
You get to discover new things about your passions as a creative.
When you work with people who drive and inspire you, it’s an honor.
As a result, you’ll be able to work on projects that aren’t only straightforward or have previously been completed.
Being your own employer allows you to work fewer hours per week than if you were working for someone else who determined your career path and income.
Working as a creative entrepreneur has been a dream come true.
There’s nothing better than working on what you love, and doing it on your own terms is great. When I started my business, I had no idea how hard it would be (and how much I would love it). Five years in, I can say this professional route is the best I’ve ever made. We are our own bosses, work with great people and brands, and follow our passions through life’s ups and downs. If you’re considering becoming an entrepreneur, read this Forbes article on how they earn roughly 50% more than employees.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with wonderful people and brands, and I can follow my passion and keep learning about it. It’s a dream come true!
