I don’t have any standard photography packages.
I know, I know—this is a confusing concept for some people. And I get it. I mean, if you’re trying to decide between a family photographer and a wedding photographer, it makes sense to look at photography packages. But if you’re looking for commercial photography—well, then it gets a little trickier.
You’re not going to get a ton of value out of a package that includes some of the things you care about but not all of them. You may even find yourself paying more than if you just picked what you wanted individually. And when people are first considering hiring me as their food photographer, they often ask me about my packages because they’ve heard that’s what photographers do. But that’s just not how I do business! Here’s why.
As a photographer, I’m constantly asked what my pricing is, and the answer is simple: it depends. Each project has its own elements, and I can’t give you a quote until I know what those are.
Each project is different, and each client has different needs. I need to know the following: who, what, where, when, and how much.
First, I need to know who you are. I want to know what your goals are and what you’re trying to accomplish with the images we create together.
Next, I need to know what you need. Do you have a specific vision for the images? Are there certain things that need to be in the shot? Do you have a preferred style?
After that comes location: on-location or in my studio? If it’s on location, where are we shooting?
When do we need these images? This will have a huge impact on the rate.
Finally, I need to know what your budget is. In order for me to give you an accurate quote without any hidden fees or surprises later down the line, I need this information up front so there aren’t any miscommunications later on down the road about pricing or expectations for delivery time frames.
Food photography work is greatly dependent on the needs of each individual client, so standard packages don’t make sense here. I will work with you to create a custom photography package that supports your business goals and your budget. This is the best way for us to develop a partnership that’s built around trust, understanding, and mutual respect—all things I believe are crucial in any relationship!
Custom packages are more flexible. This means that you can have exactly what you need and nothing more. You won’t be paying for services that you never use, saving money in the long run.
Custom packages can be tailored to your needs. The fact that they’re custom means they’re created specifically for your business, which makes them even better than other package options out there because they’re tailored specifically to meet all of your unique needs as a business owner.
Custom packages can be tailored to the needs of your business, customers, and clients alike, because these photographers know how important it is for everyone involved with the photos—from the subjects themselves right down to their loved ones—to love their photos so much that they want them displayed prominently throughout their home or office space!
Each project has its own unique elements, so it makes sense to me that we should be able to tailor each package to fit those needs. I want to work with you and your business so we can come up with something that works well for both of us!
Food photography is one of the most important elements in your marketing strategy. If you’re looking to step up your game and take it to the next level, we’d love to help.
